Company switch from Sage to Xero
Where it all started
When this client first came to us, they’d specifically sought us out for our expertise in Xero. They were running a successful limited company on Sage but knew they wanted to make the switch — and they wanted people who really knew the platform to help them do it properly.
But it quickly became clear there was a bigger picture too. By their own admission, they didn’t feel fully on top of their numbers and wanted to “get a better handle on everything and have more oversight of it all, working more closely with a financial and accounting expert.”
Working together to make a change
We managed the transition from Sage to Xero, making sure nothing got lost in the move and that the client felt comfortable and confident with the new platform from day one. But the software was really just the starting point.
The bigger change was in how we worked together. Rather than the traditional arms-length accountant relationship — where you hand things over and hope for the best — we built something much more hands-on.
Regular touchpoints, clear conversations about the numbers, and a genuine effort to help them understand what the figures actually mean for their business.
Where they are now
The difference has been really rewarding to see. Our client now has up-to-date financial information at their fingertips and, crucially, the confidence to understand and act on it. They’re no longer waiting until year-end to find out how things are going — they know, in real time, how their business is performing.
